Treatment
Offender rehabilitation and treatment must be evidence-based, effective, and cost-effective. It must engage clients and motivate them. At present, the most effective treatment approach utilizes skills-based, cognitive-behavioral methods (CBT) within the framework of the Risk/Need/Responsivity (RNR) Model. Research demonstrates that adherence to these approaches can result in reduced risk, lower recidivism rates, and increased community safety.
